Let us start with what it is not
AWT Coin is not a cryptocurrency. It does not sit on a blockchain, it cannot be moved to an exchange, converted into any currency, or sold to anyone else.
AWT Coin is not an investment. It does not rise in value, it pays no interest, and it grants no share in the company.
AWT Coin is not electronic money and not a means of payment in any legal sense. It buys nothing anywhere except our own shop.
The name with «Coin» in it is left over from a time when we had not fully decided what we were building. It is confusing, and we admit that. Changing it now would break the balances of everyone who has already accumulated something.
What it actually is
Loyalty points. The same as in any coffee shop with a card for a free tenth cup — just with an awkward name.
One AWT Coin equals one dollar of discount in our shop. The rate is fixed and does not move: not because we «support» it, but because it is not a rate at all, just a unit of account.
How you earn them
How you spend them
At checkout, points come off the balance and reduce the amount due. There is a cap on what share of an order can be paid in points — the exact limit is shown in the basket.
Points do not expire. We do reserve the right to change the earning rules, and if we do we will write to the address on your account beforehand.
Why we put this so bluntly
Because enough stories have piled up around «ecosystem tokens» that ended badly for people who believed promises of growth.
We make no such promises and we do not want anyone reading them between the lines. If you are looking for somewhere to put money, AWT Coin is not that. If you buy our devices and want the next one to cost a little less, then yes — this is exactly it.
